The Highland Games each year chooses a junior from the village to present the chieftain, and his wife, with a gift from the games.

But this year they have decided to keep with the First Ministers request, for the Year Of The Home Coming, and have chosen someone from afar, with strong Helmsdale connections.

Beth Amey comes from Kincarden O'Neil Aberdeenshire, she is five years of age, and goes to Torphins Primary School.

She is the elder daughter of Ross and Gail, and she comes to Helmsdale on a regular bases to visit her grand parents, Stan and Muriel Amey who live at Navidale, and have been supporters of the Games since the last twenty eight years.

The Games Committee are delighted, that Beths parents have agreed, for her to make this presentation to the Chieftain, on Games Day.
